Mission Statement

We, the members of Westminster United Presbyterian Church of Galena, are an active, lively and ministering congregation of people who both trust and obey Jesus Christ. As such, we are dedicated to being a body of faith that is prepared to carry on His mission for us today.

It is a privilege for us to answer our calling through the following practices:

• In member care, we provide an environment of worship and sustenance that nurtures Christian growth for all, and makes visible God's presence in our service to and our attitude toward one another.
• In worship and celebration, we continuously enhance the scope and depth of our worship, and celebrate the life of our church community and of our Savior Jesus Christ.
• In Christian education, we provide progressive, thoughtful and spiritual educational programs for all ages.
• In outreach and evangelism, we embrace mission opportunities to reach out in faith and concern to our members, our community, our nation, and our world.
• In matters concerning our building and grounds, we have maintained and preserved our historic structure with an eye to the future.
• In stewardship and interpretation, we intend to expand stewardship awareness and to utilize our resources wisely and efficiently.
• In leadership and administration, we constantly implement and maintain a strong interactive relationship with each other, and allow new opportunities for leadership responsibility.
